Hi all! I've got a big update up my sleeve. As you may or may not have known, I have a profound resect for the ancient religious text "Bhagavad-Gita", for its' immense philosophical insight and concise advice for achieving the maximum level of transcendence in this life and the highest aim of existence in the next. (Union with God, going home)
I was met by some travelling monks in Arcata, and they invited me to what is known as "kirtan" which is like an Indian flavored jam session with drums and bells and a group of people singing the names of God. Following this, they extended an invitation to travel with them to their home base temple in Los Angeles, which I immediately raised my hand to accept. They seemed a bit surprised that their offer was acted upon, but nonetheless, they took me into their big van and allowed me to go with them to Los Angeles. We stopped by some universities on the way, where they passed out holy literature and fraternized with students, while I sat back and got into some meditation. We also stayed the night at the temples in Berkeley and San Jose, where I had some deep metaphysical conversation with a few devotees and ate a slew of delicious and authentic Indian food, offered to God and dubbed, "prasadam". Last night, we made it into Los Angeles amidst a light rain with impressive displays of pealing lightning. I was fully accepted into the ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) temple dwelling, known as an "ashram", without hardly any difficulty. So, for now, I'm living the monk life, spending the days chanting Hare Krishna, reading ancient eastern religious texts, associating with fellow monks and chopping up veggies in the kitchen. Have a good time readers, and may God be with you always.

Hi everyone,
Roswell was a quaintly fun little experience. The little green alien ascetic got old pretty fast, but it was neat to look at. Lived in some woods with a few people, and went to all the museums. Besides the obvious museum of UFOs, there was also an art museum and a Goddard museum of early rocketry. I spent a lot of time at the UFO museum library, reading conspiracy books and watching X-files. Now, having gone through Sacramento, I am in a town in northern California called Arcata. They say it's a hippy town, but everyone I see is just young alcoholic punks with dreads. This town is not very sociable. The content in the local papers is so liberal as to be a parody of itself. The saving grace, for me, is the beautiful Redwood forest behind the college. These trees are magic. They're so big, I almost get anxious looking up at them. Regardless, I don't plan to be here long. I'm soon going to try a trek south down the coast and hopefully make it to Zion by October. Peace and Love all you guys. Recently I got out of Corpus Christi and am now in New Mexico, making my way to Roswell for some alien-related adventures! Love all you fine people.
Decided to add a new page to the site to account for my more mundane aspects of life, for the sake of friends and family who would want to know how I'm doing and where I'm at.
Right now, I'm in Corpus Christi Texas, on the beach! Lots of relaxation, lots of reading and sunshine. I recently picked up work making tacos at a gas station. Needless to say, it IS as glamorous as it sounds. The mission is still the same as it was in Houston; Get enough capital to visit India for a while. So, still doing well, love all of you and hope things are going ok for you all as well. |
