Poetic activism
Hey all,
I'm going to be doing a tour down the California coast, peddling my artwork as I go. The theme is surrealism. Fuck society. Let's be insane gods. I'm going to try and get my head of the gutter on this one, back to the seat of power-consciousness.

What are we trying to change here? To what end do our efforts mean? Most activists want to be political, fighting against falsehood and ignorance, fear-mongering, WAR-mongering, oppression, suppression, or just plain authority, amongst the government system. They find it apparent that the government, regardless of what it claims, is not a self governing construct. It appears tangled in a tight knot of consumerism, military power, secrecy, and sheepish ignorance. They say "To truly stand up and change this system, we have to have the right EQUIPMENT, followed by the courage to FIGHT the oppressors, all while staying UNDER the RADAR and awakening the ignorant to the truth! What truth? That the very government you wish to rebel against exists as a perfect reflection of the parts of you that want to rebel against it? Think about who the REAL adversary here is. Any time at all you feel oppressed, think; 'Who or what is oppressing me right now?' You are. Your own mind is oppressing itself, usually by closing itself off to the truth. It's your mind that conceals the bridge of its' own gap between that which is, and that which seems. This causes the cognitive dissonance at a subconscious level that creates angst. You feel upset and cheated by something you don't understand because it contains a truth you can't see... until you do see it. At the moment you awaken to the truth of things, the very construct you were desiring to change dissolves, and all reveals itself as a mirror. So, the goal is not to try and change a system that is fucking with us, but to only realize our selves at every level of existence we perceive. In this way, we come to peace within, and the chaos we witness shows itself to be a simple misunderstanding. We cannot force self-realization upon ourselves, any more than we can force it upon another person or force dissolution of the apparent corruption of a macro-system like the government. All we can do is keep the realization in ourselves at all costs, live by its' implications, and help others lead themselves to the opening of the door. Here at Lifusech, we make strides towards increasing cultural awareness towards oppression here in the United States and abroad. We here believe that the pen is mightier than the sword, so we wield this weapon whenever and however is deemed fit by our members. We believe that life is, at some level, dictated by various symbols and icons, myths and stories, and that certain societal structures are using these very tools to oppress and control the minds of others. We use these very same tools to re-open closed minds and awaken people to the puppetry and fraud committed across the board. Whether it's Scientology, the federal government, or even Wal-Mart, we shall be there. People interested in joining this department should expect the following responsibilities:
1. Creation of thesis' expounding upon what structure should be targeted, why and how. 2. Collaboration with artists, planners, and "legal advisers"(We only partake of first amendment protected activism ;)) for the formulation and execution of projects. 3. Creation and distribution of pamphlets to the public for the purpose of raising awareness or effecting change. |
